I think because of my Bass drumming back ground, I was able to grasp having my feet perform 2 different functions easier. You have to learn to downshift without adding gas and then start adding gas to rev match, then you can blip the gas and downshift. Read more

Bought my ‘17 GT without knowing how to drive it, I was the third person in my family who had done so and 3rd that my dad taught.  Considering it’s my only car.. it was a pretty fearful situation.  I didn’t kill the thing trying to learn it, but my one point of advice would be to play it cool with the mistakes and go Read more

You know what? Good for you. Good for you for being brave and telling people your secret. Good for trying to learn. Read more

I bought one of these back in the late 90's and learned to drive stick on the way home. The huge amount of torque makes it easy to learn on, and fun once you know how. If you ever find your self guessing what gear to use “when in doubt, pick 3rd.” Good luck! Read more

I know this is going to sound absurd, but the reason I didn’t buy a new Honda Ridgeline was because the arm rest was just a little stick, instead of a huge center pad between the seats.  Need that big pad. I love to do a big ol’ lean on that baby every now and again.  Makes you feel comfortable AND in charge! Can’t do Read more

Oh my god. I’m just now realizing I haven’t driven a car with armrests since I got rid of my account’s namesake back in 2016. Fuck, those things were great.

Being an old, this is the era of motorsport where I cut my teeth. All the classics from the couple of decades in the post-war time period are worth a read, even when the machismo is thick enough to cut with a knife, because they are our historical sources for so much of what we take for granted today. Great review, Elizabeth.  Hearing the names “Bruce McLaren” and “Jackie Stewart” just instills images of titans of motorsport.  They were famous from long before I was born, so it’s a bit of an epiphany when you realize there was a time when nobody knew who they were. Read more
