Manhattan Bridge is wildly under appreciated here. Best bridge in the city for cyclists (and runners). Easiest way to get to Manhattan from Brooklyn, feeds right into bike lanes in Brooklyn AND Manhattan. Has fences that make it feel safe. Great views. Nice breeze. I was weirdly obsessed with Oldsmobile Ninety-Eights as a kid. We had one. It was comfy and good. It looked cool. I used to count the number of other Ninety-Eights I saw on the road, too. I think I made it up to 500 before I gave up on that. Solid way to pass time on road trips, though.

All of you knew I would be here.
In 1991 I went to work for the now defunct Denton County Motors in Denton Texas. This store sold the oddest combination of Lincoln/Mercury, Chrysler/Plymouth and Isuzu.
I have always been a fan of the Mark Series, those being a big, nice Mustang. Yes, I know, but we are talking 80s and

The humble ’88 EF Civic sedan. First car my parents bought new, first car I remember riding in. (I’m an ’87 model.)

The 1990 Chevrolet Caprice Classic my parents bought new when I was 3. We went everywhere in it and all I ever wanted was for it to be my first car. I think my parents held on to it longer than they would normally have done just because they knew how badly I loved it. It did end up being my first car, it was my baby.

1989 Oldsmobile Touring Sedan. A friend had one our senior year of HS that was in mint shape. It was just a great car, and we felt like ballers in it. IIRC it had a MSRP of almost $30,000 new. Power sunroof at a time where it was almost unheard of in a car. I would pick one up in a heart beat of I could find a clean

Suzuki Sidekick...great little SUV that we took everywhere. My mom was in the military and I grew up overseas. In Bolivia we had a little black or teal Sidekick and for some reason my memory is showing me some “cool” neon decals on it. My mom, sister and I went on countless camping and adventure trips that ranged from Read more

Erik did it right here. He bought an affordable car, paid it off in a reasonable amount of time, now he has a reliable, practical, fun car that’s all his. The problem with finance is when you do it the way most Americans seem intent on doing it: with endless seven, eight and nine year loans at some outrageous rate. Read more
