Alec Cortez of Canberra Australia was cautious enough to install a CCTV security system in his home, but not cautious enough to keep his rare Porsche locked up.
On a particularly cold morning, Cortez left his $110,000 custom Porsche running in his driveway to warm up while he went back in his house. A passing thief carpe’d the diem and stole the unattended car. The incident was captured on Cortez’s CCTV:
Fortunately, Cortez’s car was found later that night with no damage besides replaced license plates.
As a cold front moves through Australia, incidents like this one are on the rise. In the winter, remember to ask yourself: will I be less happy inside a cold car, or no car at all?
