The wheels-falling-off-of-Porsche 911 GT3 problem we took note of last year appears to have grabbed the attention of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Beginning this month, 455 2010 911 GT3s will be recalled for a rear wheel hub defect that could cause rear wheel hub failure and, potentially, crashes.
Unfortunately, Porsche's current maintenance interval for the hubs turned out to be too long, so the squeaky wheel's not getting the grease, as it were. Porsche will send out letters to those affected, but if you own a GT3, please know that a) we jelly, and b) you can check in with Porsche by calling 1-800-767-7243.
