At some point in its relatively short life, this crossover found itself staring at the dirt and wondering what must have led it to this sad, sad fate. It must have been, in that moment, when this Ford realized there was no Escape.

Anyway, police in Greendale, Wisconsin didn’t say how this Ford Escape wound up in a giant hole in the ground with construction equipment surrounding it on June 4—only that the 63-year-old woman driving it wasn’t injured. According to Milwaukee USA Today branch the Journal Sentinel, police haven’t decided whether to cite the woman. It’s possible they were more impressed than mad.

Although the Facebook post warned drivers to be careful driving through construction zones, Lt. Bridgette Paul said signs warning of the road work “weren’t very clear.”
Eventually a crane lifted the vehicle from its misery and unexpected dive toward the center of the Earth.
Maybe we can all call the crane to pull us from the earth, too, when we end up in hell for making a pun out of this unfortunate nosedive.
